Winter Folk Sessions
feat. Nick Cunningham, Luke Morris & Tommy Sheehan
Born and raised in a small South Australian town Nick began making music as a teenager as a way to connect with people and to express himself.
Based now in Byron Bay he recorded his first EP and has begun to build a following through busking on the streets and regularly touring the stretch of Australia's East coast gracing venues, back yards, houses and gardens across the country. He has been captivating audiences and leaving them at peace with his soothing vocals and hypnotic melodies. Nick has found his way forward as an independent touring and recording artist and has performed at such festivals as Splendour In The Grass and the Byron Bay Blues Festival. He was named the Byron Bay raw artist musician of the year in 2015 with the release of his debut EP "Letters" reaching number 2 in the Itunes singer songwriter charts in the same year.
With new music due to be released in 2017 Nick is taking to the road to bring his songs and stories to as many people and places as humanly possible.
Indi/Folk songsmith Luke Morris was born and raised in the small coastal town of Port Lincoln on South Australia's west coast. In 2012 Luke made the move to Byron Bay to begin his career in music.
In late 2014 Luke Independently made his debut into the music industry with his nine - track album titled ‘Sugarcane Road’. He then followed up in 2015 with the release of his single, ‘I Was Somewhere Else’ which featured on Triple J and was added to rotation on Triple J Unearthed. Following the release, Luke was invited to Play at the Iconic “Blues And Roots Festival’ and ‘Splendour In The Grass” festival.
In between touring nationally, Luke has been working alongside friends and producers recording a collection of new music to be released later in 2016. Previous artists Luke has supported include, Holy Holy, The Rubens, and Alpine.
Lush acoustic guitars, ambient vocal melodies and spacious natural soundscapes combine to create the indie-folk sounds of Gold Coast songsmith Tommy Sheehan. At 21 years of age, Tommy is establishing his own blend of folk/influenced music; deriving from artists such as Ben Howard, Matt Corby, Bon Iver and Angus Stone. His debut release 'The Cold - EP' (2016) created waves in the Australian folk scene, reaching number 5 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts.
